About IAH Airport

George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) Airport is the City of Houston's largest airport and joined the Houston Airport System in June 1969.

Bush Intercontinental can be found about 23 miles north of downtown Houston. It is close to the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8 North).

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is operated and maintained by the City of Houston Department of Aviation. The Houston Airport System functions as an enterprise fund and does not burden the local tax base for airport operations, maintenance or capital improvements. The Airports operations are funded through airport operations, parking and related fees charged to customers of the airport.
