IAH Airport Ground Transportation

A list of Ground Transportation options available for visitors and travelers at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) Airport.

Visitors and travelers to Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) have a variety of transfer and transportation options available to them once they arrive in Houston. These options includes taxis, private limousines, SuperShuttle shared-ride service, scheduled buses/shuttles, courtesy vans and even public bus (METRO) transportation. Services can take you to your nearby or downtown hotel or wherever your local travel takes you to in the surrounding communities. Shuttle service is even available to take you to the Galveston beach area.

Most shuttle services can be found at the south side of Terminals A, B and C and at the west end of E. Please check in the terminal for specific locations.

Shared Ride Service

SuperShuttle is now a provider of ground transportation services at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports.

SuperShuttle takes reservations and picks-up travelers at their homes or businesses and then transports them to the airports and vice versa. Walk-up service is also available (no reservations necessary). Please just visit the SuperShuttle booth located in the baggage claim area.

Courtesy Vans

Courtesy vans are operated by many hotels/motels in and around the airport. Just use the courtesy telephones in the baggage claim area to ask for pick-up for most hotels/motels in the airport area.

Taxis

Taxis can be hailed through the Ground Transportation employees outside each terminal.

All destinations within Houston's city limits to/from Bush Intercontinental Airport are charged according to the flat Zone Rate or the meter rate, whichever is LESS. In addition:

  • City ordinance authorizes the cab drivers to add a $2.75 departure fee in addition to the total fare.
  • Two or more passengers going to the same destination will only be charged one fare.
  • Late night surcharge - $1.00 per trip (8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)
  • Senior citizens receive a 10% discount.

Public Bus Service

The Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) provides bus service at the south side of Terminal C. Metro Bus 102 picks up on the south side of Terminal C street level (baggage claim) and also stops at the downtown Metro station. Please visit Houston Metro for more details.

Rental Cars

The Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) offers bus service available at the south side of Terminal C. Metro Bus 102 picks up on the south side of Terminal C street level (baggage claim) and stops at the downtown Metro station.

This modern, efficient, and customer friendly center can be found on the east side of JFK Blvd and is less than 5 minutes from the airport's terminals.

A common bus system is now used by all rental car companies. Just follow the Rental Car signage at your arriving terminal and look for the white and maroon buses marked "Rental Car Shuttle".
